On Friday, February 24, 2012, San Ramon held its first ever black light rally.

White streamers, glow-in-the-dark posters, an array of lights, two DJs, glow sticks, and cheering students, parents and staff members filled the gymnasium. The rally will not only be remembered for the black lights but also for the Guinness World record that was broken. SRVHS had “the most people wearing sunglasses in the dark at one time” with over 1100 people, beating the previous record by over 500 people. The process was mind-blowing and proved how special San Ramon is.

To top off the event, the rally focused on raising awareness for muscular dystrophy Sophomore Lulu Cuny (10) spoke about her encounter with the disease.

Students and staff agreed that this rally would literally go down in history.
